Both major U.S. stock exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ, are closed for the full day on Labor Day every year, reopening for trading on the following day at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Normal stock market hours are from 9:30 a.m. ET to 4:00 p.m. ET. The stock market is completely closed in observance of Labor Day from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and then reopens the following day as normal.
Other than Labor Day, there are nine holidays when the stock markets are closed including Memorial Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Juneteenth, Christmas Day, Independence Day, President’s Day, and Good Friday. If any of these holidays occurs
over the weekend, the stock market closes on the Monday after or Friday before.
Traders active in the U.S. market from foreign countries must remember that not all countries have the same holidays. The foreign stock exchanges can continue operations as normal while the U.S. stock markets are closed in observance of major U.S. holidays.
