Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN) put volume exploded ahead of earnings

The Dow finished higher, thanks to strong economic data. Across all 12 options exchanges, 6.93 million calls crossed, compared to 6.23 million puts. The day's put/call volume ratio closed at 0.89.

Solaredge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:SEDG) puts changed hands at nearly nine times what's normally seen, even though the company unveiled better-than-expected earnings and received a batch of bullish brokerage notes. Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN) put volume finished at 32 times the norm ahead of tonight's quarterly earnings report.

Call volume on Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) ran at three times the expected daily pace, after the company's strong quarterly results. Foot Locker, Inc. (NYSE:FL) call volume was nine times higher than normal.
