Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc (NYSE:LL) and Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS) each saw increased put activity

The Dow gave back early gains today to fall for a fifth straight session. Across all 12 options exchanges, 8.49 million calls crossed, versus 7.29 million puts. The day's put/call volume ratio ended at 0.85.

Looking at notable put activity, Lumber Liquidators Holdings Inc (NYSE:LL) puts crossed at 20 times the normal pace, after the company's earnings miss. Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS) also saw accelerated put volume -- 10 times normal -- after releasing disappointing earnings. (The increased put activity coincided with short-selling restrictions for both LL and DIS.)
