Today kicks off the final trading week of 2021
This week between the Christmas and New Years holidays is fairly sparse in terms of economic data. Plus, there won't be any additional corporate earnings reports until January 4. Still, there is the regularly scheduled jobless claims data, as well as a handful of other figures for investors to sift through. This week will be the last opportunity for trading in 2021.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Tuesday will feature the S&P Case-Shiller U.S. home price index.
The stock market will not be closed in observance of New Year's Day this year. The holiday falls on the weekend, specifically this Saturday. The daily trading schedule will remain normal Monday through Friday despite the holiday.
