Today concludes the trading week ahead of Christmas holiday.
Today the usual initial and continuing weekly jobless claims are scheduled, along with core inflation data, durable goods orders, core capital goods orders, personal spending data, and new home sales.
There are no companies slated to release corporate earnings today, December 23.
The stock market will be closed tomorrow, December 24, in observance of the Christmas holiday this year. The stock market will open again for a full trading day on Monday, December 27, at 9:30 a.m. ET for the last trading week of the year. We wish you and your loved ones the happiest holiday this year!
Looking ahead to next week, the week between Christmas and New Years is looking fairly sparse in terms of economic data. Plus, there won't be any more corporate earnings reports until January 4. Still, there is the regularly scheduled jobless claims data, as well as a handful of other figures for investors to sift through.
