Happy Black Friday! The stock market was closed for a full day yesterday in observance of the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. Today, the market will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. ET for a shortened schedule.

Did you know... the Wednesday prior to the Thanksgiving holiday has been named Green Wednesday because this day is historically a huge day for cannabis sales ahead of the holiday? Data from Akerna (NASDAQ:KERN) indicated an projection of $90 million in cannabis sales on Wednesday, marking the highest single-day revenue for the industry just behind 4/20. According to a business intelligence architect at Akerna, "Whether people are turning to cannabis for relaxation, to nurture a sense of togetherness, or for other reasons, consumers have made it clear that cannabis is part of Thanksgiving preparation."

There is no economic due out today, November 26, as a result of the holiday shortened week.

There are no companies slated to release corporate earnings today, November 26.

Looking ahead to next week, investors will be following up Thanksgiving week with a packed schedule. Next week is filled to the brim with economic indicators, and marks the beginning of the last month of the year. The earnings calendar appears quite full as well, with reports coming from Ambarella (AMBA), Big Lots (BIG), Box (BOX), CrowdStrike (CRWD), DocuSign (DOCU), Dollar General (DG), Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), JinkoSolar (JKS), Kroger (KR), (CRM), Signet Jewelers (SIG), Snowflake (SNOW), Ulta Beauty (ULTA), Zumiez (ZUMZ), and Zscaler (ZS).

All economic dates listed here are tentative and subject to change.
