End of October Packed with Tech Earnings, Data

Friday will be busy as the month comes to a close

As October comes to an end, there will be plenty of economic data for investors to sift through, with progressively more and more each day as the week goes on. Plus, earnings season is still in full swing, and plenty of big tech names will announce their quarterly reports. Some of the notable names on tap will be 3M (MMM), Alphabet (GOOGL), Caterpillar (CAT), Chevron (CVX), Coca-Cola (KO), eBay (EBAY), Facebook (FB), Microsoft (MSFT),  and Twitter (TWTR).

Below is a list of key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All economic dates listed below are tentative and subject to change.

The week starts of slow on Monday, Oct. 25, with no economic data of note. 

Tuesday, Oct. 26, will bring the consumer confidence index and new home sales. 

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, durable goods orders, core capital goods orders, and the goods trade balance are on tap.

Initial and continuing jobless claims are due out on Thursday, Oct. 28, as well gross domestic product (GDP) data, and pending home sales. 

Friday, Oct. 29 features personal income and consumer spending data, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, the employment cost index, the consumer sentiment index, and the Chicago purchasing managers' index (PMI).
