After such a volatile September, investors will be looking forward to a new month and new quarter -- especially as we approach such a bullish time of the year for the S&P 500 Index (SPX).  To kick things off, there's plenty of economic data to digest, including key jobs and inflation reports. It'll be a relatively quiet week in the earnings confessional, with reports from Conagra (CAG), Constellation Brands (STZ), Levi Strauss (LEVI), and PepsiCo (PEP).

Below is a list of key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All economic dates listed below are tentative and subject to change.

Kicking off the week, Monday, Oct. 4 features factory orders.

On Tuesday, Oct. 5, a trade deficit update is due out. The Markit services purchasing managers' index (PMI) and ISM services index are also slated for release.

ADP employment data will be released on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Thursday, Oct. 7 comes with initial and continuing jobless claims data updates, as well as a consumer credit report.

Employment data continues to close out the week. Friday, Oct. 8 features nonfarm payrolls, an unemployment rate update, and average hourly earnings.

The $25K Day Trading Barrier is Gone
