Today's market-moving economic data and earnings schedule

Investors will digest a deluge of economic data, including retail sales, the import price index, another round of jobless claims, and a slew of housing information this week. All eyes will be on the Federal Reserve's latest interest rate decision on Wednesday, with Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell set to speak that afternoon. The earnings calendar, meanwhile, is relatively bare, though some major names are still set to report including NKE, CRWD, DG, FDX, MOMO, SIG, TIF, and WB. 

Today the Empire State Manufacturing Index is due out.

The following companies are slated to release quarterly earnings reports today, March 15:

Desktop Metal Inc. (NYSE:DM -- $20.44) manufactures and sells additive manufacturing solutions for engineers, designers, and manufacturers. Desktop Metal will report its Q4 earnings of 2020 before the bell today.

HealthEquity Inc. (NASDAQ:HQY -- $79.17) provides range of solutions for managing health care accounts. HealthEquity will report its Q4 earnings of 2020 after the market closes today.

KE Holdings Inc. (NYSE:BEKE -- $58.96) operates an integrated online and offline platform for housing transactions and services. KE Holdings will report its Q4 earnings of 2020 after the market closes today.

Vuzix Corp. (NASDAQ:VUZI -- $22.12) is a supplier of Smart-Glasses and Augmented Reality technologies and products. Vuzix will report its Q4 earnings of 2020 after the market closes today.

Earnings per share increased 38.54% year over year to $1.33, which beat the estimate of $1.26. Revenue of $318,835,000 higher by 17.65% from the same period last year, which beat the estimate of $318,800,000.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the trading session will come in full force as traders parse through core retail sales, the import and export price indexes, industrial production data, business inventories, and the National Association of Home Builders index.
