The November jobs report is due out on Friday
Cyber Monday will kick off another busy stretch for retailers next week. Earnings from a number of big names -- including AutoZone (AZO), Five Below (FIVE), and RH (RH) -- will also be in focus. Wall Street will also be eyeing a number of economic reports ahead of the mid-December Fed meeting. While no rate cut is expected this time around, Wall Street will still digest an onslaught of jobs data to get a read on the state of the U.S. labor market.
Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.
Monday, Dec. 2, kicks off with Markit's purchasing managers manufacturing index (PMI), the Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) manufacturing index, and construction spending data. And in addition to earnings from Conn's (CONN), retail names will be in focus on the Cyber Monday shopping holiday.
Monthly auto sales will be released on Tuesday, Dec. 3. AeroVironment (AVAV), AutoZone (AZO), Marvell Technology (MRVL), Salesforce.com (CRM), Workday (WDAY), and Zscaler (ZS) will report earnings.
Wednesday, Dec. 4, brings the ADP private payrolls report, Markit's services PMI, and the ISM non-manufacturing index. At Home (HOME), Campbell Soup (CPB), Five Below (FIVE), G-III Apparel Group (GIII), H&R Block (HRB), National Beverage (FIZZ), Slack Technologies (WORK), RH (RH), Tilly's (TLYS), and Verint Systems (VRNT) will step into the earnings confessional.
Weekly jobless claims, the October trade deficit, and factory orders will hit on Thursday, Dec. 5. Earnings from American Outdoor Brands (AOBC), Cloudera (CLDR), DocuSign (DOCU), Dollar General (DG), Kroger (KR), Tiffany (TIF), Ulta Beauty (ULTA), Zoom Video Communications (ZM), and Zumiez (ZUMZ) will be released.
The focus on Friday, Dec. 6, will be on the November jobs report. The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index and wholesale inventories are also due. Big Lots (BIG) and Genesco (GCO) are scheduled to report earnings.
