Traders are gearing up for another busy few days of earnings, with Apple's (AAPL) quarterly report due right in the middle of the week. Fellow tech concerns Alphabet (GOOGL) and Facebook (FB) are also set to release their numbers, while reports from names like Merck (MRK) and Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) will put the healthcare sector in focus. The economic calendar is also full, with a Fed meeting and the October jobs report the marquee events.

For Monday, Oct. 28, international trade in goods data is due. Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), AT&T (T), Akamai Technologies (AKAM), GOOGL, Beyond Meat (BYND), Diamond Offshore (DO), Loews (L), NXP Semiconductor (NXPI), Spotify (SPOT), Texas Roadhouse (TXRH), T-Mobile (TMUS), Transocean (RIG), XPO Logistics (XPO), and Xerox (XRX) will report earnings.
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will kick off its two-day policy-setting meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The S&P CoreLogic-Case Shiller home price index, consumer confidence, and pending home sales will also be released.
Earnings will be coming from blue-chip pharmaceutical firms MRK and Pfizer (PFE). The ADP private payrolls report, the advance reading on third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP), and weekly crude inventories come out on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Additionally, the Fed will release its latest policy announcement at 2 p.m. ET, followed by a press conference from Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

Thursday, Oct. 31, brings weekly jobless claims, personal income and spending data, as well as the employment cost index (ECI). The Chicago purchasing managers index (PMI) is also expected.
