Several central bankers, including Fed Chair Jerome Powell, will speak next week
While many will still be recovering from the triple whammy of Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, the last week of November is chock-full of potentially market-moving events. The final third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) reading will draw notable attention on Wednesday, but there will also be the latest Fed meeting minutes, as well as a speech from Fed Chair Jerome Powell. A bevy of other Fed presidents will take the mic too, while several earnings stragglers will unveil their quarterly reports.
In addition, investors will be nervously monitoring trade rhetoric between the U.S. and China, as the two countries prepare for the Group of 20 (G-20) summit on Friday, Nov. 30, in Buenos Aires. Top White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said of the current trade tiff: "The talks will come to a head at the G-20."
