It's a busy week ahead, with another round of housing data and the third-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) estimate on tap. Earnings season is full speed ahead, with several big names reporting, including Dow members Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT), McDonald's Corp (NYSE:MCD), and Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), as well as FAANG names Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) and Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

The economic calendar is relatively bare on Monday, Oct. 22. It will be a relatively light start to a heavy earnings week, too, with Halliburton (HAL), Hasbro (HAS), Kimberly-Clark (KMB), and TD Ameritrade (AMTD) all reporting.

On Tuesday, Oct. 23, Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic is scheduled to speak, as well as Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari and Chicago Fed President Charles Evans. Blue-chips 3M (MMM), Caterpillar (CAT), McDonald's (MCD), United Technologies (UTX), and Verizon (VZ) will step into the earnings confessional, along with Biogen (BIIB), Corning (GLW), Fifth Third (FITB), Harley-Davidson (HOG), Huntington Banc (HBAN), and Lockheed Martin (LMT).

New home sales and the weekly crude inventories report are both slated for Wednesday, Oct. 24. Bostic will speak, once again. St. Louis Fed President James Bullard and Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester will also speak. Traders will digest earnings from AT&T (T), Boeing (BA), Microsoft (MSFT), and Visa (V), as well as Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Ford Motor (F), Hilton (HLT), Sirius XM Radio (SIRI),  UPS (UPS), and Whirlpool (WHR).

Thursday, Oct. 25, will be busy, with reports due out on durable goods orders, international trade data, weekly jobless claims, pending home sales, and the Fed balance sheet. Mester is scheduled to speak again.

It'll be another huge day for earnings reports, with Dow stocks Intel (INTC) and Merck (MRK), FAANG stocks Alphabet (GOOGL) and Amazon (AMZN), and social media stocks Snap (SNAP) and Twitter (TWTR) all reporting. American Airlines (AAL), Baidu (BIDU), Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), Southwest Airlines (LUV), First Solar (FSLR) and Wynn Resorts (WYNN) will also roll out earnings.

Friday, Oct. 26, will bring the final GDP reading for the third quarter, as well as data on consumer sentiment data. Autoliv (ALV), Colgate-Palmolive (CL), and Goodyear Tire (GT) will wind down an active earnings week with their quarterly reports.
