Best Buy, Dick's, and Lululemon are among the companies slated to report
Retail earnings will remain in the spotlight next week, with names such as Best Buy (BBY), Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS), Express (EXPR), Lululemon Athletica (LULU), and Tiffany & Co (TIF) scheduled to report. Medical marijuana concern Tilray (TLRY) will also report earnings. Also in focus will be the highly anticipated gross domestic product (GDP) report, as well as data on international trade and consumer confidence.
Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.
Monday, Aug. 27, will start the week with the Chicago Fed National Activity Index and the Dallas Fed manufacturing survey. No notable earnings are expected.
A busy day on the economic front, Tuesday, Aug. 28, will host data on international trade, retail and wholesales inventories, consumer confidence, the Richmond Fed manufacturing survey, and the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller housing price index.
For earnings, Best Buy (BBY), Box Inc (BOX), Hain Celestial (HAIN), H & R Block (HRB), Lannett (LCI), Shoe Carnival (SCVL), Tiffany (TIF), and Tilray (TLRY) will report.
Slated for Wednesday, Aug. 29, is the MBA mortgage index, weekly crude inventories, pending home sales report, and the highly anticipated GDP data. American Eagle (AEO), Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS), Dycom (DY), Express (EXPR), Guess? (GES), Movado Group (MOV), Salesforce.com (CRM), and Tilly's (TLYS) are slated to release earnings.
Weekly jobless claims and data on personal income and outlays will surface on Thursday, Aug. 30. For earnings, Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF), Ambarella (AMBA), American Outdoor Brands (AOBC), Burlington Stores (BURL), Campbell Soup (CPB), Ciena (CIEN), Dollar General (DG), Dollar Tree (DLTR), Lululemon Athletica (LULU), and Ulta Beauty (ULTA) are scheduled.
On Friday, Aug. 31, the Chicago purchasing managers index (PMI), consumer sentiment data, and Baker-Hughes rig count is expected. There are no earnings of note.
