A slew of retail earnings are slated for the upcoming week, with Kohl's (KSS), Sears (SHLD), Target (TGT), TJX Companies (TJX), Big Lots (BIG), and Foot Locker (FL) among the companies reporting. Outside of earnings, traders will dissect the latest Fed meeting minutes -- released just before the central bank's annual symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming -- and a big Cigna (CI) shareholder vote.

A speech from Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic on Monday, Aug. 20, will kick off the week, while earnings from from DSW (DSW), Estee Lauder (EL) and Fabrinet (FN) are expected.
No notable economic data is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21. However, Children's Place (PLCE), Kohl's (KSS), Medtronic (MDT), Pure Storage (PSTG), Red Robin (RRGB), TJX Companies (TJX), Toll Brothers (TOL), and Urban Outfitters (URBN) will step into the earnings confessional.
The 2 p.m. ET release of the Fed's meeting minutes will headline Wednesday, Aug. 22. Also scheduled is the MBA mortgage index, weekly crude inventories, and existing home sales reports. L Brands (LB), Lowe's (LOW), Momo (MOMO), Sears (SHLD), and Target (TGT) are slated to release earnings.
Thursday, Aug. 23, will bring weekly jobless claims, new home sales, the Markit's flash composite purchasing managers index (PMI), and the start of the annual Fed summit in Jackson Hole. Earnings from Alibaba (BABA), Autodesk (ADSK), Big Lots (BIG), Gap (GPS), Hormel Foods (HRL), HP Inc (HPQ), Ross Stores (ROST), and VMware (VMW) will be released.
On Friday, Aug. 24, the Fed's symposium will continue, while the Baker-Hughes rig count and durable goods data are anticipated. Earnings are due from Buckle (BKE), Foot Locker (FL), Guess? (GES), Hibbett Sports (HIBB), and Williams-Sonoma (WSM). Meanwhile, Cigna (CI) shareholders are expected to vote on the Express Scripts (ESRX) deal.
