Snap, Disney Earnings to Headline Busy Week

Dropbox, Etsy, and Roku are also on deck to report earnings

The economic calendar cools off next week, though traders will digest the latest data on producer and consumer prices. Blue chip Walt Disney (DIS) will headline a handful of media earnings, with Twenty-First Century Fox (FOXA), Roku (ROKU), New York Times (NYT), News Corp (NWSA), and Viacom (VIAB) also reporting. In addition, we'll see quarterly reports from Snapchat parent Snap (SNAP), Dropbox (DBX), Etsy (ETSY), and more.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

There is no notable economic data scheduled for Monday, Aug. 6. However, Cardinal Health (CAH), Dynavax (DVAX), Etsy (ETSY), Hertz Global (HTZ), Marriott (MAR), Mosaic (MOS), Newell Brands (NWL), Plug Power (PLUG), Red Robin (RRGB), Tenet Healthcare (THC), Tyson Foods (TSN), Twilio (TWLO), Weight Watchers (WTW), and Zillow Group (ZG) are slated to report earnings.

Tuesday, Aug. 7, will bring the Labor Department's Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) and the Fed's consumer credit report.

A busy day for earnings, Walt Disney (DIS), 3D Systems (DDD), Avis Budget (CAR), Boot Barn (BOOT), Children's Place (PLCE), Crocs (CROX), Fossil (FOSL), Halozyme Therapeutics (HALO), Host Hotels (HST), Hostess Brands (TWNK), Lending Club (LC), Match Group (MTCH), Momenta Pharmaceuticals (MNTA), Office Depot (ODP), Papa John's (PZZA), Shutterfly (SFLY), Snap (SNAP), Spark Therapeutics (ONCE), and Wendy's (WEN) are scheduled.

The MBA mortgage index, weekly crude inventories report, and a speech from Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin are expected on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

Stepping into the earnings confessional will be ACADIA Pharmaceuticals (ACAD), Booking Holdings (BKNG), Cars.com (CARS), CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP), CVS Health (CVS), DepoMed (DEPO), Dillard's (DDS), e.l.f. Beauty (ELF), Horizon Pharma (HZNP), Michael Kors (KORS), Monster Beverage (MNST), Mylan (MYL), New York Times (NYT), Roku (ROKU), SINA (SINA), Twenty-First Century Fox (FOXA), Weibo (WB), and Yelp (YELP).

On the economic front, Thursday, Aug. 9, will bring us weekly jobless claims and the producer price index (PPI). Earnings from Dropbox (DBX), News Corp (NWSA), Party City (PRTY), Planet Fitness (PLNT), Synaptics (SYNA), Universal Display (OLED), and Viacom (VIAB) will be released.

On Friday, Aug. 10, the Baker-Hughes rig count, consumer price index (CPI), and July's Treasury budget are expected. There are no earnings of note.
