As a busy and drama-fueled month winds down next week, investors will turn their eye stateside toward several big economic reports. Next week will feature a variety of inflation data and Fed speakers, but the big mover will be on Thursday, when the revised first-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) reading is unveiled. In addition, some notable companies will report earnings, such as blue-chip Nike (NKE), soon-to-be Dow member Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), and homebuilding names Lennar (LEN) and KB Home (KBH).
Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.
Monday, June 25, will kick off the week with new home sales and an earnings report from Carnival (CCL).
On Tuesday, June 26, data on consumer confidence and the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller home price index will be released. Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic and Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan will speak in the afternoon. AeroVironment (AVAV), JinkoSolar (JKS), Lennar (LEN), and Sonic (SONC) are scheduled to unveil quarterly reports.
Wednesday, June 27, will feature durable goods orders, pending home sales, the weekly crude inventories report, the MBA mortgage index, and wholesale trade data. Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren will speak later in the day. Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY), Canopy Growth (CGC), General Mills (GIS), Rite Aid (RAD), Paychex (PAYX), and Pier 1 Imports (PIR) are scheduled to unveil quarterly reports.
Thursday, June 28, will be highlighted by the revised first-quarter GDP reading, as well as weekly jobless claims and the Fed's balance sheet. St. Louis Fed President James Bullard will speak in the morning. Nike (NKE), Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), Accenture (ACN), Conagra Brands (CAG), and KB Home (KBH) report earnings.
The week will close with a busy Friday, June 29, filled with core inflation data, personal income and spending stats, the Chicago purchasing managers index (PMI), the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index, as well as the Baker-Hughes weekly rig count. Constellation Brands (STZ) will report earnings.
