Earnings season moves full steam ahead next week, with a number of notable names stepping up to the plate. Social media giant Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) will take its turn in the spotlight on Wednesday evening, while fellow tech names Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE:BABA) and Yelp Inc (NYSE:YELP) are also scheduled to report. Elsewhere, the Fed will remain front and center, with the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) November meeting set to begin on Tuesday. While expectations are low that the Fed will raise interest rates ahead of the Nov. 8 U.S. presidential election, the stock market will look for clues toward a possible December rate hike -- especially with the highly anticipated jobs report due out on Friday.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

The economic calendar for Monday, Oct. 31 will feature personal income and spending numbers, the Chicago purchasing managers index (PMI), and the Dallas Fed manufacturing survey. Stepping into the earnings confessional will be energy firms Anadarko Petroleum (APC), Diamond Offshore Drilling (DO), Green Plains (GPRE), Tesoro (TSO), and Williams Companies (WMB). BroadSoft (BSFT), Cardinal Health (CAH), Lumber Liquidators (LL), and Southern (SO) are also slated to report.

Motor vehicle sales will be in the spotlight on Tuesday, Nov. 1, as will the Markit PMI manufacturing index, the Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) manufacturing index, and construction spending. Additionally, the FOMC will kick off its two-day policy-setting meeting. On the earnings front, quarterly results from Pfizer (PFE), Angie's List (ANGI), Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM), Boyd Gaming (BYD), Coach (COH), Cummins (CMI), Electronic Arts (EA), Etsy (ETSY), Gilead Sciences (GILD), Herbalife (HLF), Illumina (ILMN), Kellogg (K), LyondellBasell (LYB), Molson Coors Brewing (TAP), Mosaic Co (MOS), Myriad Genetics (MYGN), Square (SQ), Sturm, Ruger & Company (RGR), U.S. Steel (X), and Zillow Group (ZG) will be released.

It will be a busy day on Wall Street on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on the Fed in the afternoon, with the FOMC slated to deliver its monetary policy decision at 2 p.m. ET.

The corporate calendar has plenty to hold investors' attention, as well, with a number of high-profile names set to report. Included in the bunch are Facebook (FB), Alibaba (BABA), and Yelp (YELP). The economic docket is chock-full on Thursday, Nov. 3, with weekly jobless claims, productivity and labor costs, factory orders, and the ISM non-manufacturing index all due. Wall Street freshman Twilio (TWLO) will take its inaugural turn in the earnings confessional. Elsewhere, Starbucks (SBUX), GoPro (GPRO), 3D Systems (DDD), Activision Blizzard (ATVI), Chesapeake Energy (CHK), El Pollo Loco (LOCO), FireEye (FEYE), Imperva (IMPV), InvenSense (INVN), Las Vegas Sands (LVS), Level 3 Communications (LVLT), Lions Gate Entertainment (LGF), Skyworks Solutions (SWKS), Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM), Symantec (SYMC), and Weight Watchers International (WTW) will report.

The jobs data could draw some attention from Atlanta Fed President Dennis Lockhart and Dallas Fed President Rob Kaplan, who are both slated to speak. The week's earnings docket will wrap up with results from Humana (HUM), Duke Energy (DUK), Genworth Financial (GNW), Microchip Technology (MCHP), Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (REGN), and Shutterstock (SSTK).
