This week has been dominated by Fed speak, most notably words from Fed Chair Janet Yellen, in the lead-up to the Labor Department's nonfarm payrolls report -- due out tomorrow. Speeches by central bank officials will be front and center again next week, as will the minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee's (FOMC) March meeting, as traders try to assess the Fed's timeline for raising interest rates.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

Monday, April 4

Factory orders are the sole economic report on the day's docket, while Boston Fed President Eric Rosengren and Minneapolis Fed President Neel Kashkari are slated to speak. There are no notable earnings reports slated for release.

Tuesday, April 5

The economic calendar picks up with the release of international trade data, the Labor Department's Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS), and the Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) non-manufacturing index. Chicago Fed President Charles Evans will take the mic. Darden Restaurants (DRI) and Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) will report earnings.

Wednesday, April 6

The weekly crude inventories update will create some buzz in the morning, while the minutes from the latest FOMC meeting will command full attention in the afternoon. These two events bracket a speech from Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester. Apollo Education Group (APOL), Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY), Constellation Brands (STZ), Monsanto (MON), and Ollie's Bargain Outlet (OLLI) will unveil their earnings reports.

Thursday, April 7

Jobless claims are the only data point due on Thursday. Meanwhile, speeches from Fed Chair Janet Yellen and Kansas City Fed President Esther George are scheduled for after the close. On the earnings front, CarMax (KMX), ConAgra Foods (CAG), Rite Aid (RAD), and Ruby Tuesday (RT) will report.

Friday, April 8

While both the earnings and economic calendars are bare, Dallas Fed President Rob Kaplan is slated to speak. Additionally, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide (HOT) and Marriott International (MAR) will each host an extraordinary shareholders meeting to vote on their proposed merger.
