Major market events for the week ahead include retail earnings, a Fed speech, and the latest gross domestic product (GDP) estimate
While retail earnings continue to roll in next week, all eyes will be turned to Thursday's gross domestic product (GDP) release. We'll also hear from Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank President Dennis Lockhart, and the annual economic policy symposium will kick off in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Among retailers presenting their quarterly results will be Best Buy (BBY), Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF), Dollar General (DG), and GameStop (GME). We'll also hear the latest quarterly results from builder Toll Brothers (TOL) amid a wave of housing data -- and a handful of other notables are also set to report, including NQ Mobile (NQ), Splunk (SPLK), and Smith & Wesson (SWHC).
Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

It's worth noting that Thursday is the first day of the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium -- though Fed Chair Janet Yellen won't be attending the conference this year.
Meanwhile, retail earnings just don't stop. Thursday's docket includes quarterly results from 1-800-FLOWERS (FLWS), Aeropostale (ARO), bebe stores (BEBE), Dollar General (DG), GameStop (GME), Tiffany & Co (TIF), and Ulta Salon (ULTA). Outside of retail, Autodesk (ADSK), J.M. Smucker (SJM), OmniVision Technologies (OVTI), Seadrill (SDRL), Splunk (SPLK), and Smith & Wesson (SWHC) are also set to report.
Friday 8/28
