A Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) policy meeting and early first-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) figures highlight next week's hefty economic docket. Among the stocks reporting earnings are tech titans Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR); pharmaceutical firms Merck & Co., Inc. (NYSE:MRK), Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), Bristol-Myers Squibb Co (NYSE:BMY), Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ:VRTX), Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:TEVA), and Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:MNTA); as well as commodity concerns Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM), Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX), AK Steel Holding Corporation (NYSE:AKS), BP plc (ADR) (NYSE:BP), Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (NYSE:CLF), United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X),Yamana Gold Inc. (USA) (NYSE:AUY), Whiting Petroleum Corp (NYSE:WLL), and Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd (USA) (NYSE:AEM). Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) will also step into the limelight, scheduled to debut its new line of batteries at the end of the week.

Tuesday 4/28
Tuesday's economic docket features the consumer confidence index and the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index. Additionally, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will kick-off its two-day policy-setting meeting.
