Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) futures are trading comfortably above fair value this morning, as Wall Street once again absorbs a flurry of earnings reports. Most notably, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and fellow Dow stock Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) are higher post-earnings. Conversely, blue chip The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO) is pointed lower on downbeat sales. Outside of earnings, investors are digesting the biggest drop in durable goods orders in nearly two years in June, and later will turn their attention to the latest Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) policy decision, which is due at 2 p.m. ET today.

Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) are 50 points above fair value.

5 Things You Need to Know Today

  1. Japan's Nikkei jumped on a series of stimulus-reported media reports
  2. The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) saw 827,104 call contracts traded on Tuesday, compared to 631,687 put contracts. The resultant single-session equity put/call ratio jumped to 0.76, while the 21-day moving average slipped to 0.63.
  3. AAPL is eyeing a 7% surge when the market opens, after the company topped nearly all of Wall Street's expectations with its second-quarter earnings report. However, AAPL has struggled to sustain momentum atop the closely watched $100 level
  4. Social media stock Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), on the other hand, is set to fall 11% this morning, after reporting disappointing second-quarter numbers and downbeat revenue guidance. A flurry of bearish notes from analysts have come down the pike as a result, which could leave TWTR options traders kicking rocks
  5. Meanwhile, steel stocks AK Steel Holding Corporation (NYSE:AKS) and United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X) are both on the rise in pre-market trading, following better-than-expected second-quarter results. This would be just more of the same for AKS and X, which have both put in tremendous year-to-date performances, with each hitting annual highs on Tuesday.
