July Jobs Report, Apple Earnings On the Table for Next Week

Dow member Pfizer will report earnings on Tuesday

Earnings reports continue to flood the docket, with Dow component Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), and mobile camera maker GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) among the companies reporting earnings. Outside of the earnings confessional, jobs will be the focus, with the highly anticipated nonfarm payrolls report punctuating the week.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

The week starts off on Monday, July 31, with the Dallas Fed's manufacturing index, the Chicago purchasing managers index (PMI), and pending home sales. Diamond Offshore Drilling (DO), Loews (L), Owens-Illinois (OI), Pandora (P), Sohu.com (SOHU), and Texas Roadhouse (TXRH) will report earnings.

Tuesday, Aug. 1, continues with Markit's PMI, ISM's manufacturing composite index, auto sales, construction spending, and personal income and consumer spending data. Earnings are expected from Apple (AAPL), Pfizer (PFE), Allstate (ALL), Archer Daniels (ADM), Community Health Systems (CYH), FireEye (FEYE), Honda Motor (HMC), IDEXX Laboratories (IDXX), Illumina (ILMN), Incyte (INCY), Lumber Liquidators (LL), Mazor Robotics (MZOR), Phillips 66 (PSX), Radian Group (RDN), Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL), Shopify (SHOP), Sony (SNE), Sprint (S), SunPower (SPWR), Under Armour (UAA), and Xerox (XRX). 

Scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 2, is the ADP employment report, and the regularly scheduled crude inventories update is also on Wednesday's docket. The Street will also digest speeches by San Francisco Fed President John Williams and Cleveland Fed President Loretta Mester. Earnings are expected from  Tesla (TSLA), Square (SQ), 3D Systems (DDD), Cardinal Health (CAH), Cheesecake Factory (CAKE), Chemours (CC), Cirrus Logic (CRUS), Citrix Systems (CTXS), Clovis Oncology (CLVS), Delphi Automotive (DLPH), Fitbit (FIT), Garmin (GRMN), HollyFrontier (HFC), Humana (HUM), Marathon Oil (MRO), Metlife (MET), Qorvo (QRVO), Restaurant Brands International (QSR), SodaStream (SODA), Southern (SO), Tableau Software (DATA), Take-Two Interactive (TTWO), Time Warner (TWX), and Transocean (RIG). 

Thursday, Aug. 3, brings weekly jobless claims, factory orders, and ISM's non-manufacturing index. Companies scheduled to report earnings Thursday include  Activision Blizzard (ATVI), GoPro (GPRO), Aetna (AET), Allergan (AGN), AMC Networks (AMCX), Clorox (CLX), Dish Network (DISH), Duke Energy (DUK), Etsy (ETSY), Gannett (GCI), Hyatt Hotels (H), Insys Therapeutics (INSY), Kellogg (K), Kraft Heinz (KHC), Microchip (MCHP), Shake Shack (SHAK), Universal Display (OLED), Weight Watchers (WTW), Wyndham Worldwide (WYN), Yelp (YELP), and Yum! Brands (YUM). 

Friday, Aug. 4, will wrap up the week with data on international trade and the all-important nonfarm payrolls report for July. CBOE Holdings (CBOE), Toyota Motor (TM), and Trivago (TRVG) will report earnings.
