U.S. stocks are up after a series of earnings reports, including wins for blue chips Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Boeing Co (NYSE:BA). Among equities in focus today are fellow Dow component The Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), cloud service stock LogMeIn Inc (NASDAQ:LOGM), and biotech Recro Pharma Inc (NASDAQ:REPH).

KO is down 3.5% at $43.34, following a mixed earnings report. The Coca-Cola Co beat analysts' expectations for per-share earnings, but missed on quarterly sales and cut its full-year organic revenue growth forecast, citing international headwinds. The blue-chip stock is now struggling to stay in the black on a year-to-date basis, and could end beneath its 10-month moving average for the first time since September. In the option pits, put buying was especially popular leading up to earnings, with KO's 10-day put/call volume ratio at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX) of 2.73 sitting in the 96th percentile of its annual range.

LOGM is up 20.2% at $83.82 -- and just off an all-time high of $86.40 -- after news that the cloud services provider will be merging with Citrix Systems, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:CTXS) GoTo unit, in an all-stock deal. Option bulls have been keen on LOGM, with its 50-day ISE/CBOE/PHLX call/put volume ratio of 1.19 sitting in the top one-third of its annual range. LogMeIn Inc shares received a series of price-target hikes today, ranging from $78 (Cowen and Company) to $100 (Piper Jaffray).

REPH is up 31.4% at $10.09 -- and rallied as high as $12.50 earlier -- after releasing positive late-stage trial data for its non-opioid intravenous painkiller, Meloxicam. This bull gap has pushed REPH to year-to-date highs, and above resistance at its 200-day moving average. REPH is now up 12.2% since the beginning of 2016. Some short sellers may be kicking rocks today, because even though REPH's short interest is down 6.2% over the last two reporting periods, shorted shares still represent two week's worth of pent-up buying demand, at Recro Pharma Inc's average daily volume.
