Is the stock market open on Good Friday?

May 17, 2020, 13:53 PM

No. The major U.S. stock markets are closed on Good Friday.

Both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq are closed in observance of Good Friday every year. If any other markets are open on this day, please be cautious while trading on a U.S. market holiday due to lower trading volume and, thereby, lower liquidity. Click here for a list of all market holidays.

When is Good Friday?

Good Friday is observed on the Friday prior to Easter Sunday every year. The next Good Friday holiday will take place on Friday, April 2, 2021.
