Put players descended upon Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) and LinkedIn Corp (LNKD)
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) ended lower today, due to a major energy slide, but the index notched a weekly and monthly gain. Across the 12 major exchanges, 7.5 million calls crossed versus 6.6 million puts. Today's put/call volume ratio came in at 0.88.
Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) and LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) both saw heavy put volume after their earnings misses. TASER International, Inc. (NASDAQ:TASR) saw puts cross at twice the normal levels, as the security extended its post-earnings slump.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) saw major spread action in the weekly 8/14 series. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) saw heavy volume once again, with calls crossing at twice the normal level. Elsewhere, Hertz Global Holdings Inc (NYSE:HTZ) call volume ran at four times the normal rate.
Also, options traders are betting on Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) and Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) to extend their hot streaks.
