After a busy start to the month, June's pace will likely slow next week as the summer doldrums set in on Wall Street. Earnings reports are light, and no Fed speakers are on tap. Investors will instead digest the latest inflation figures -- especially in light of recent Fed comments -- and retail sales toward the end of the week.

As has been the case of late, Wall Street will also keep an eye on trade. President Donald Trump's tariffs on Mexican goods are still set to take effect on Monday, as of this writing. The U.S.-China trade war could also remain in focus, considering U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is scheduled to meet with People’s Bank of China Governor Yi Gang over the weekend at a G-20 meeting in Japan.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

On Monday, June 10, the week will kick off with the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS). Ascena Retail Group (ASNA) will report earnings. In addition, Trump's tariffs on Mexican imports are slated to take effect.

The producer price index (PPI) and NFIB small business optimism index will highlight Tuesday, June 11. H & R Block (HRB), Dave & Busters (PLAY), and RH Inc (RH) will step into the earnings confessional.

Wednesday, June 12, features weekly crude inventories data and the Treasury budget, as well as the consumer price index (CPI) and data on MBA mortgage applications. Quarterly earnings reports are expected from Lululemon (LULU) and Tailored Brands (TLRD).

Weekly jobless claims are slated for Thursday, June 13. There will also be import and export prices data and the Fed balance sheet. On the earnings front, Broadcom (AVGO) and Duluth Holdings (DLTH) will report.

It's a busy close to the week on Friday, June 14, with retail sales, industrial production data, business inventories, and consumer sentiment data all on tap. Cheetah Mobile (CMCM) will report earnings.
