Analysts are weighing in on retail stocks Fossil Group Inc (NASDAQ:FOSL)Under Armour Inc (NYSE:UAA), and VF Corp (NYSE:VFC). Here's a quick roundup of today's bearish brokerage notes on FOSL, UAA, and VFC shares.

Fossil Falls to Multi-Year Lows

FOSL has tanked 19.7% to trade at $18.34, after last night's earnings miss, and earlier touched a seven-year low of $18.10. Adding insult to injury, Wells Fargo downgraded the shares to "underperform" from "market perform," while at least four other analysts cut their price targets. This is more of the same from the brokerage community. Even before today, Fossil Group Inc had received "hold" or worse ratings from 12 of 13 covering analysts.

Susquehanna Slams Under Armour CEO

UAA saw its rating lowered to "negative" from "neutral" at Susquehanna, which also slashed its price target to $14 from $24. The brokerage firm cited concerns over CEO Kevin Plank's positive remarks about President Donald Trump, which could "make it nearly impossible to effectively build a cool urban lifestyle brand in the foreseeable future." Out of the gate, Under Armour Inc shares are down 0.2% at $21.50, bringing their year-over-year deficit to 48%. Not surprisingly, options traders have been lining up for puts over calls. UAA's Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) of 1.18 ranks in the put-skewed 82nd percentile of its annual range.

More Negativity Hits Struggling VF Corp Shares

VFC is off 0.7% at $50.50, after Canaccord Genuity and B. Riley both cut their price targets to $51. These bearish notes come ahead of Friday morning's earnings report, and are far from rare. Of the 22 analysts tracking VF Corp, 16 have handed out a "hold" or worse opinion. Meanwhile, the stock's SOIR stands at a 52-week high of 2.31, with puts more than doubling calls among options expiring in the next three months. Technically speaking, VFC has done little to disprove the doubters. The shares have dropped 15% of their value on a year-over-year basis.
