Analysts revised their ratings and price targets on Golar LNG Limited (USA) (GLNG), Himax Technologies, Inc. (ADR) (HIMX), and Delphi Automotive PLC (DLPH)
Analysts are weighing in on natural gas stock Golar LNG Limited (USA) (NASDAQ:GLNG), circuit developer Himax Technologies, Inc. (ADR) (NASDAQ:HIMX), and automotive expert Delphi Automotive PLC (NYSE:DLPH). Here's a quick roundup of today's brokerage notes on GLNG, HIMX, and DLPH.
- GLNG has gained 7.9% today at $16.73, following an upgrade to "buy" from "hold" at DNB Markets. Still, the stock remains in consolidation in the $15-$18.50 range, not to mention 63% lower year-over-year. Despite these long-term technical struggles, most analysts share DNB Markets' upbeat outlook. Specifically, six of seven brokerage firms recommend buying Golar LNG Limited, while none consider it a "sell."
- Following the departure of a key executive, HIMX received a price-target cut to $11 from $14 at Craig-Hallum. The shares have been moving lower for months, including two big drops in the past two sessions, with the stock last seen 10.5% lower at $7.38. This will mark Himax Technologies, Inc.'s first close below its 320-day moving average since January, and short sellers are hoping for more losses. During the past two reporting periods, short interest on HIMX grew by 23%, and now represents nearly 12% of the equity's total float.
- DLPH is up 1% at $63.24, after UBS included the stock in its Most Preferred list for automotive technology stocks. This comes while Wall Street digests disappointing monthly sales figures from automotive heavyweights. The shares have been moving higher this week, but still face a 26% year-to-date hole. In the meantime, short-term options traders have been unusually put-skewed. This is according to Delphi Automotive PLC's Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) of 1.97, which tops 74% of the past year's readings.
