It's all about the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) next week, as the top central bank officials will gather Tuesday and Wednesday to talk economic policy -- though a June interest rate hike is not anticipated. Following the policy announcement, Fed Chair Janet Yellen will give another highly anticipated speech that could impact stocks. Meanwhile, the earnings calendar is relatively light -- save for Thursday, when a handful of heavy hitters will step up to the plate.

Below is a brief list of some key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All earnings dates listed below are tentative and subject to change. Please check with each company's respective website for official reporting dates.

Monday, June 13

There are no economic reports worth noting on Monday. The earnings calendar is relatively empty, as well.

Tuesday, June 14

On Tuesday, the FOMC will kick off its two-day policy-setting meeting. Also, retail sales, import and export prices, and business inventories data will be released. The corporate earnings lineup includes Bob Evans (BOBE) and Yingli Green Energy (YGE).

Wednesday, June 15

Wednesday will see the release of the producer price index (PPI), the Empire State manufacturing survey, industrial production numbers, and the regularly scheduled update on crude inventories. More importantly, the FOMC's policy announcement is due out at 2 p.m. ET, followed by a press conference with Fed Chair Janet Yellen. Ctrip.com International (CTRP) and Jabil Circuit (JBL) will hit the earnings stage.

Thursday, June 16

The consumer price index (CPI), weekly jobless claims, the Philadelphia Fed business outlook survey, and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) housing market index are scheduled for Thursday. Stepping up to the earnings mic are Finisar (FNSR), Kroger (KR), Oracle (ORCL), Rite Aid (RAD), and Smith & Wesson (SWHC).

Friday, June 17

Housing starts are due out on Friday, which also represents quadruple witching expiration. There are no notable earnings reports scheduled.
