The Dow is slipping into red territory this afternoon
The Nasdaq Composite Index (IXIC) and S&P 500 Index (SPX) are both advancing today, with the former sporting a triple-digit lead, though neither have topped Friday's record peaks peaks yet. The small-cap Russell 2000 (RUT) hit an all-time peak during today's trading, however, rising above 2,500 for the first time. Advanced Micro Devices' (AMD) deal with OpenAI is giving the indexes a boost, though the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) is failing to capitalize, falling into the red at midday.

Archer Aviation Inc (NYSE:ACHR) is among the most heavily traded stocks in the options pits today, with 270,000 calls and 30,000 puts exchanged so far -- five times its average daily options volume already. The October 13 call is the most popular, followed by the weekly 10/10 13-strike call, with positions opening at the latter. ACHR was last seen up 10.1% at $12.74 and pacing for a fourth-straight daily gain amid rumors of a partnership with Tesla (TSLA).

Critical Metals Corp (NASDAQ:CRML) stock is up 94.5% at $15.52 at last glance, after Reuters reported the U.S. government is in talks to buy stake in the mining name. The security is now up roughly 138% year to date, trading at 52-week highs after jumping above a familiar area of pressure at $9.
Quantum Computing Inc (NASDAQ:QUBT) stock is falling sharply from last session's 23.2% surge, down 10.5% to trade at $22.03 at last check. The company agreed to sell 37.2 million shares over the weekend in a private placement to raise $750 million, with the shares valued at an 18% discount to Friday's close. Since the start of 2025, the security has added 33%.
