Confession: A few years ago, when I was writing out Matthew’s picks for Schaeffer’s Expiration Week Countdown Bulletin, I saw the driver “max pain” and paused. It was a term I was unfamiliar with, even after a few years learning about options trading mechanics and terms. But being the cocky writer I am, I just made an educated guess that “maximum pain” was just the threshold for the trade.
Lol.
