How to Use this SiteNavigation![]() The central navigational feature of SchaeffersResearch.com is the yellow navigation bar, located near the top of each page (see figure above.) Use the navigation bar to browse or search the site for items of interest. The navigation bar has several distinct parts: Tabs![]() Above the navigation bar are 6 "tabs": the red "Start" tab and 5 green tabs ("Quotes & Tools", "Commentary", "Schaeffer's Edge", "Education" and "Products and Services", in order from left to right - see figure above.) The Start tab is the place to start each visit to our website. Must-see items for all visitors are listed in the Start tab. Additional items are highlighted based on whether you are an investor or an active trader. The 5 green tab are the main sections of the website (see "Site Sections" below for an overview.) Clicking on the main portion of each green tab will take you to the opening page of that section. On the right side of each green tab is an arrow pointing down. Clicking on a down arrow will reveal a drop-down menu for that section (see figure at right). Each drop-down menu has two sides: the left side lists the main parts of that section; the right side lists highlights key pages in that section. Click on any link in either half of this drop-down menu to go to that area or page.Current location![]() Your current location is listed as the first line of the yellow navigation bar (see figure above). The main section is listed first. Below the main section title is a line of links to the main areas of your current section. Finally, a "breadcrumb" shows how you arrived at your current page. The breadcrumb starts with the phrase: "Find Your Way". A sample breadcrumb looks like this: Find Your Way: Home >> Commentary >> Main All the links in the breadcrumb are active. Use these links to trace your route through the website and quickly jump back to a main section page, or the our homepage. Search/Get Quote![]() To get the current stock quote for any stock, type the symbol into the box next to the "Get Quote" button (see figure above), then click the "Get Quote" button. (Note: stock and option pricing data is shown on a 20 minute delay.) To search the website for specific words or phrases (for example, to search for recent mentions of Microsoft), type the word phrase into the box next to the "Search" button, then click the "Search" button. A list of articles and pages containing the word or phrase will be shown. Jump-To Menu![]() The Jump-To menu is an index of the website (see figure below). Click on the down arrow and scroll through the list of sections and pages. All areas of the website are listed. Select any item listed and your browser will be sent to that page. In addition, for options traders, there are option chains, implied volatilities, greeks, an options calculator and an options expiration calendar. Further research stocks using Schaeffer's Open Interest Put/Call Ratios or Volume Put/Call Ratios. There are a dozen other market tools and indicators available to generate trading ideas. The Commentary section contains timely market insight, updated every business day throughout the day.
