After looking through a lot of data, I am starting to see some patterns develop on some of our bearish screens. The top three sectors that seem to be underperforming, but are continuing to receive a lot of positive sentiment are:
- Gold mining
- Metals & minerals
- Coal
With the positive -- and then negative -- news out of China, a lot of these names were in the spotlight during the past few days. Many of these sectors also showed a lot of strength yesterday, so if you are looking for shorting opportunities, these areas might not be a bad place to start.
