U.S. stocks have pared a portion of Friday's big gains this morning, due to unsettling overseas developments from the weekend. While the economic calendar is bare today, the sessions ahead will see numbers related to consumer prices, home sales, and durable goods. Here's a more detailed breakdown of what to watch for this week:

Monday

  • In early trading, Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) and Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS) are moving north and south, respectively, after reporting their latest quarterly earnings and sales numbers. While the latter performed better than sector peer Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAT), the toy company failed to top analysts' per-share profit expectations, finishing in-line with the consensus estimate.

Tuesday

  • A number of blue-chip names -- including The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), and Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) -- will step under the earnings spotlight tomorrow. Meanwhile, the consumer price index (CPI) and core CPI, as well as last month's existing home sales data, will be released in the morning.

Wednesday

  • Telecom giant AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and popular social network Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) will report second-quarter numbers on Wednesday. The economic calendar is light, with only the weekly crude inventories report due out.

Thursday

  • Thursday will see Dow components 3M Co (NYSE:MMM), Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT), and Visa Inc (NYSE:V) step into the earnings confessional, as well as automotive heavyweights Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) and General Motors Company (NYSE:GM), Internet marketplace Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), and coffee chain Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX). On the economic docket, weekly jobless claims, the preliminary purchasing managers manufacturing index (PMI) for July, and new home sales for June are due out.

Friday

  • The week will close out with earnings reports form Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. (NYSE:SWK) and Xerox Corp (NYSE:XRX), while durable goods orders for June will also be announced.
