Futures are sitting in the green this morning, with a full docket of economic reports ahead, including the Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) manufacturing index and construction spending data. In company news, here are some stocks to watch today:

  • Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is having preliminary discussions related to a potential $300 million purchase of News Distribution Network, The Wall Street Journal reported. Acquiring the online video service could help YHOO strengthen its video advertising revenue and enhance its Web-based video programming. (Reuters)

  • According to technology research firm Gartner, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) maintained its status as the top software provider on the planet last year. Of the software industry's roughly $400 billion in revenue, MSFT possessed roughly 16% of the market share, easily outpacing both Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) and International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM), which finished in second and third place, respectively. (CNBC)

  • Macy's, Inc. (NYSE:M) has promoted Chief Merchandising Officer Jeffrey Gennette to president, where he will report directly to CEO Terry Lundgren. In his newly expanded role, Gennette will be in charge of M's marketing, online operations, and private brands business. (FOX Business)

  • Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:MRVL) has been ordered to pay more than $1.5 billion -- significantly higher than the initial award of $1.17 billion -- to Carnegie Mellon University for patent infringement. U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer ruled that "enhanced damages" were warranted because Carnegie Mellon proved that MRVL had deliberately used the school's patented hard disk drive devices in its chips. (Reuters)

  • Finally, with baseball season now upon us, Swimmingly has put together a handy infographic for anyone who's ever wondered, "How much would it cost me to propose at an MLB game?" Although proposal packages vary greatly from stadium to stadium, the prices range from $38.50 at PNC Park in Pittsburgh to $2,500 at L.A.'s Dodger Stadium. (Swimmingly)
