Ahead of tomorrow's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) policy announcement, the stock market appears ready to rebound after several days in the red. In company news, here are some stocks to watch today:

  • Starting in April, Toyota Motor Corp (ADR) (NYSE:TM) will reduce its daily vehicle output by 15% at its Japanese manufacturing facilities. The automaker anticipates the country's sales tax hike to 8% from 5% (effective April 1) will negatively impact demand for TM vehicles. (Reuters)

  • Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (NYSE:CLF) is being urged by Casablanca Capital LP -- a hedge fund that owns a 5.2% stake in the mining issue -- to make a series of changes in order to increase CLF's valuation. Specifically, Casablanca Capital has recommended that CLF spin off all of its foreign assets, double its quarterly dividend, cut costs, and convert its domestic assets to a master limited partnership (MLP). (Bloomberg Businessweek)

  • Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE:LUV) announced yesterday that it will begin flying outside of the continental United States for the first time ever under its principle brand -- which excludes subsidiary AirTran. Specifically, beginning in July, LUV will offer flights to Aruba, the Bahamas, and Jamaica. (Reuters)

  • The Procter & Gamble Company's (NYSE:PG) Crest brand is releasing a new line of toothpaste dubbed "Be." The line's three initial flavors -- which will hit the shelves early next month -- are Lime Spearmint Zest, Vanilla Mint Spark, and Mint Chocolate Trek. (ABC News, via Good Morning America)

  • Also, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), DuPont (NYSE:DD), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), and United States Steel Corporation (NYSE:X) reported quarterly earnings. (CNBC; Reuters; Detroit Free Press; MarketWatch; Nasdaq)

  • Finally, an Insure.com survey asked 2,000 men and women to specify the types of automobiles that attractive people tend to drive. The study revealed that 32% of women think the most attractive men drive pickup trucks, while 39% of men believe the most attractive women drive sports cars. (CNBC)
