Futures are pointed lower for the second day in a row, pressured south by a round of less-than-stellar earnings reports. In company news, here are some stocks to watch today:

  • Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) plans to acquire Time Warner Cable Inc (NYSE:TWC) for roughly $45.2 billion, uniting the two largest cable TV operators in the U.S. Under the all-stock agreement, TWC shareholders will receive about $158.82 per share, based on CMCSA's closing price yesterday.   • Cloud storage concern Dropbox has named former Motorola Mobility and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) executive Dennis Woodside as its Chief Operating Officer. Woodside is expected to help Dropbox co-founders Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi manage the growing company, and possibly prepare it for an expected initial public offering. (TechCrunch)

  • The Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE:HD) is hoping to fill 80,000 job openings in time for a potentially busy spring season. "Spring is our peak hiring season, giving us the opportunity to find some of the best associates who are passionate about customer service," said Tim Crow, executive vice president for human resources.   • J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE:JCP) Chief Financial Officer Ken Hannah will step down on Monday, March 24. Succeeding him will be Ed Record, who has held similar positions at retailers such as Belk, Kohl's Corporation (NYSE:KSS), and Stage Stores Inc (NYSE:SSI). (Reuters)
