Analysts are weighing in today on photo equipment firm GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO), insurance giant UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE:UNH), and integrated circuit specialist Cirrus Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRUS). Here's a quick look at today's brokerage notes on GPRO, UNH, and CRUS.
- JMP Securities started coverage of GPRO with a "market outperform" rating and a $60 price target, citing "a multitude of underpenetrated and/or untapped opportunities to monetize its technology and brand." As a result, GoPro Inc has bounced back from yesterday's slump, rallying 12.6% to trade at $41.49. However, the shares peaked earlier today at $42.10 -- which happens to be the site of GPRO's newly formed 10-day moving average.
- Cowen and Company increased its price target on UNH to $91 from $85 and backed its "outperform" rating, just one day after Susquehanna hiked its forecast for the Dow component to $96 from $94. UnitedHealth Group Inc. hit a new record high of $84.74 earlier in the session, but has since shed 0.5% to trade at $83.86. Looking ahead, UNH is due to report its second-quarter earnings before the market opens this Thursday, July 17. Following its last quarterly report, on April 17, the stock suffered a one-day slide of more than 3%.
- CRUS scored a price-target hike to $18 from $16 at Barclays, though the brokerage firm maintains a less-than-stellar "underweight" rating on the security. Shares of Cirrus Logic, Inc. are fractionally higher this afternoon at $23.91 -- just below familiar pressure in the $24-$26 neighborhood. This area has acted as a stubborn technical roadblock for CRUS since February 2013. Meanwhile, most analysts have joined Barclays in the skeptical camp; 71% of brokerage firms have deemed CRUS a "hold" or "sell."
